Ion Solutions Cold Plasma Water Treatment

Ion Solutions offers a revolutionary water treatment system for indoor agriculture that simultaneously disinfects and oxygenates water. Utilizing cold plasma technology, Ion Solutions introduces reactive oxygen species and dissolved oxygen into the water. This advanced process not only eradicates plant pathogens but also enhances root development and prevents biofilm formation, leading to better grows.

How Ion Solutions Technology Works

How Ion Solutions Technology Works

Ion Solutions is a plug-and-play system that can be easily integrated into your existing operations. Simply plug it in to a 110V outlet and hook it up as a side stream to your water source or loop into a holding tank.

Water flows through the patented cold plasma chamber, which injects the water with reactive oxygen species and dissolved oxygen, capable of mitigating pathogens. The resulting high quality, plasma-activated water is loaded with oxidation reduction potential (ORP).

DO measures how much oxygen is dissolved in water and ORP measures water's ability to break down contaminants and waste. In general, the higher the DO and ORP levels, the healthier the water.

Whatever your application, Ion Solutions’ IRISConnect services and analytics capabilities allow our customers to monitor their water quality and maintain consistency in their operations. Our technology integrates seamlessly with existing systems, offering an easy-to-install, plug-and-play solution that delivers immediate value in a compact footprint.

Control, enhance, and protect the future of your business – and the planet – with the natural genius of Ion Solutions.

Features & Benefits

Trust Ion Solutions to:

  • Add up to 20 PPM of dissolved oxygen (DO) and a controlled amount of oxidation reduction potential (ORP) to destroy pathogens, prevent biofilm and suppress algae
  • Delivers disinfection via reactive oxygen species (ROS)
  • No added chemicals, only chemistry

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the product come in more than one configuration?

No. IRIS comes in a standard configuration. There are optional accessories, please see our product list.

What is the volume of the water that it can process per hour?

IRIS is a fixed-flow unit that treats water at 5 gallons per minute or 7,200 gallons per day

Does it have remote control capability?

Yes. IRIS is controlled through our online interface, IRISConnect, accessible through any internet device.

How does this integrate into my system?

IRIS can be used with a DOORP tank where a highly-concentrated disinfecting solution can be generated and then separately injected in to another water system such as a recirculating nutrient solution.

Do you kill common plant pathogens like Pythium and Fusarium?

Yes. Validated at a third party lab, a 5.42 log reduction was seen (99.9996%) when Pythium is exposed to IRIS PAW. A 5.02 log reduction was seen (99.999043%) when Fusarium is exposed to IRIS PAW.

Are you considered a pesticide?

No. IRIS is generating PAWtreatment onsite, therefore is registered as a treatment device.

Do you need to have supplied oxygen?

No. IRIS uses an onboard oxygen concentrator to provide concentrated oxygen to ≈95% pure oxygen.

Are you creating RONS in addition to ROS?

RON has not been measured. At single pass configuration, IRIS creates DO3 at .8ppm, or up to 5ppm on a recirculating setpoint.

Can the system handle circulating the hydroponic fertilizer through it?

No. For advertised reliability, IRIS must operate on water that has been treated by reverse osmosis (RO).

How does this inject into a hydroponic system?

IRIS can be used with a DOORP tank where a highly concentrated disinfecting solution can be generated and then separately injected into another water system, such as a recirculating nutrient solution.

Any sensor solutions that are incorporated into the system?

No. IRIS uses an oxidation reduction probe (ORP) that will need calibrated monthly. IRIS is designed to be shut down for short periods of time. For prolonged time, the ORP probe will need to be withdrawn.

What are the maximum environmental conditions for this unit?

The optimal temperature range is between 4-40°C. IRIS must remain in a dry environment.

How much space is required for the unit?

For a wall mounted configuration, IRIS requires between 20-30 square feet of wall space.
